Vikings baseball falls to Patriots in season opener

Avery surrendered just three hits in its season-opening baseball game on Monday, March 4, at Freedom. Defensive errors and passed balls proved too much for the Big Red to overcome, however, in a 6-1 loss.

The Big Red tallied its lone run in the top of the first inning on a two-out infield single, but Freedom knotted the score in the bottom of the second when it scored following a leadoff walk.
