Duties include receiving, classifying, processing and dispatching emergency service calls.
Position requires general knowledge of communications system operations, radio and teletype procedures, and County geography. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school with the ability to obtain EMD, EFD, DCI, CPR and Basic Telecommunicator certificates is required. Applicants with previous training and certification will be given priority over other applications received.

Employee duties will involve landscaping, trail maintenance, building fences, building benches, etc. Employee will be exposed to work in various weather conditions. Employee must be able to perform heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force frequently. This part time temporary position will be for 5 days a week for 40 hours paying $8.50 hourly. The position will end on Friday, August 30, 2013.

Watauga County Maintenance Department is accepting applications for the position of Custodian II.
This position is full time between the hours of 4:00 PM and 12:00 AM. Duties include sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming offices and halls; and cleaning bathrooms. Work also involves shampooing carpet; stripping and waxing floors; and other miscellaneous cleaning duties.
Some experience in custodial work required with experience in the use of heavy floor equipment preferred. Some weekend work may be required. Possession of valid NC driver's license required.
